Описание
Итог:The article examines the development of al-Nahda (formerly: Islamic Tendency Movement) in Tunisia from a moderate Islamist movement willing to work within the existing political system in the 1970s and early 1980s to an extremist revolutionary movement in the late 1980s. It is suggested that this development from a moderate to an extremist movement was at least partly due to the harsh suppression of the movement by the government. The article furthermore gives a brief comparison between Islamist extremism in Tunisia and in Algeria. (DÜI-Mjr)
