Description
Summary:Circumcision is a gender-exclusive sign of the covenant, but the stories about circumcision draw attention to important questions about male sexuality. They point to the need for the disciplining of procreation, of sexual activity itself and of masculinity. In addition, the circumcision stories along with passages that urge the need of inner circumcision suggest that circumcision turns out to be a sign of spiritual and mental unfitness to belong to the people of promise.
