Es folgt zunächst eine Einordnung der protestantischen Ethik in einen historisch-philosophischen Kontext von Askese, bevor ihre Charakteristika dann in aktueller Literatur zu den Bereichen Ernährung, Gesundheitsverhalten und Schlankheitsideal aufgezeigt werden. Gegenläufige Tendenzen werden ebenfalls beschrieben, und am Ende wird erörtert, was die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse für die Gesundheitsförderung bedeuten können. | ||
| 520 | |a This bachelor thesis aims to investigate the influence of the Protestant ethic, as described by Max Weber, on modern attitudes towards nutrition, health, and thinness. To achieve this, the history of ascetic Protestantism is briefly described, and traits of the Protestant ethic found in Weber’s essay "The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism" are pointed out. Protestant ethic is then considered in a historical and philosophical context of asceticism, before its traits are detected in modern literature on the subjects of nutrition, health, and thinness. Contrary tendencies are shown, as well as consequences for health promotion. | ||
