Les ensembles décrits, homogènes et bien datés, proviennent des maisons 1 et 2 de l’îlot C11, situées au sud-est de la ville ; ils correspondent à la période d’abandon de la ville, au milieu du iiie siècle de notre ère. Ils nous apportent de nombreuses précisions sur les catégories de céramiques en usage à cette époque : la céramique glaçurée, la Brittle Ware et la céramique commune à pâte claire. Pour la première fois, nous disposons de données quantitatives qui mettent en évidence l’importance de la céramique commune et relativisent l’importance, du moins dans ce quartier de la ville, de l’African Red Slip Ware et de la céramique glaçurée de tradition parthe. Les importations provenant des régions de l’Ouest sont rares. Les comparaisons avec les sites de la vallée de l’Euphrate suggèrent l’existence au iiie siècle d’un faciès régional ancré dans les traditions de la Mésopotamie. | ||
| 520 | |a Roman pottery from block C11 at Dura Europos (Syria, third century ad) This paper presents the first results of the ceramic studies we have carried out on the material from the recent excavations in the city of Europos-Doura (Syria). The described ensembles, homogeneous and well-dated, come from houses 1 and 2 in block C11, located in the southeast of the town ; they correspond to the period of abandonment of the town, in the middle of the third century ad. They give us many details on the categories of ceramics in use at that time : glazed ceramics, Brittle Ware and common light-colored ceramics. For the first time, we have quantitative data that highlight the importance of common ceramics and put into perspective the importance, at least in this part of the city, of the African Red Slip Ware and the glazed ceramics of the Parthian tradition. Imports from the western regions are rare. Comparisons with sites in the Euphrates Valley suggest the existence in the third century of a regional facies rooted in Mesopotamian traditions. | ||
| 520 | |a فخار روماني من القرن الثالث، من المجمع السكني س ١١ في دورا ـ أوربس (سوريا) يقدم هذا المقال النتائج الأولى لدراسات الفخار التي أجريناها على المواد المكتشفة في الحفريات الأخيرة في مدينة دورا ـ أوروبوس (سوريا). تأتي المجموعات الموصوفة والمتجانسة والمؤرخة جيدا من المنازل ١ و٢ من المجمع السكني س ١١ الواقع إلى الجنوب الشرقي من المدينة، وهي تتوافق مع فترة هجر المدينة في منتصف القرن الثالث الميلادي. تعطينا هذه المجموعة العديد من التفاصيل حول أنواع الفخار المستخدم في ذلك الوقت: الفخار المزجج، وأواني الطبخ (Brittle Ware)، والفخار العادي ذو العجينة الفاتحة. ونمتلك بذلك ولأول مرة معطيات كمية تسلط الضوء على أهمية الفخار الشائع، وتوازن أيضاً من حيث الأهمية (على الأقل في هذا الجزء من المدينة) مع الأواني الأفريقية الحمراء المزلقة وكذلك الفخار المزجج على النمط البارثي. أما الواردات من المناطق الغربية فهي نادرة. وتشير المقارنات مع مواقع وادي الفرات إلى اندماج سمات إقليمية من القرن الثالث في تقاليد بلاد الرافدين. | ||
