Affrontano il loro tempo con metodi necessariamente diversi, ma con la stessa carità intellettuale, guidata dalla Provvidenza verso il prossimo. Da maestri, inaugurano un linguaggio nuovo, ed annunciano le stesse verità, con diverso método di lavoro, obbediente ai tempi: Tommaso (Summa) parte da Dio per giungere all'uomo col principio di autorità; Rosmini parte dall'uomo per giungere a Dio e si avvale del principio di persuasione (Teosofia). The point of departure of the author is his own experience, in which h progressively draws upon the life and thought of Thomas, and in doing so, derives some conclusions. After condemnation and absolution, the thought of Thomas and Rosmini, friends in authorship and now saints, is accompanied by the oral mediation of the Scriptures and of the Fathers. We, necessarily, will confront their times with different methods but with the same intellectual charity, guided by Providence towards our neighbour. Indeed, although these masters inaugurated a new language, they announced the same truths with different methodologies, in accordance with their time: Thomas (Summa) departs from God to arrive at man through the principle of authority; Rosmini departs from man to arrive at God and uses the principle of persuasion (Teosofia). | ||
