The cooperation between Armenian and German scholars had an outstanding position in this field of scientific research. Especially members of the Venetian Congregation of the Mechitarists and graduates of the Theological Seminary of Etschmiadzin made their very important contribution to this. Without considering their different denominations, those scholars of the Armenian Apostolic Church and of Protestant churches in Germany worked together to promote patristic research. During the 1980ies, Hermann Goltz, Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, inspired the research about this short, but very important period of Protestant-Orthodox cooperation. | ||
