Untersucht wird das Zusammentreffen von antiken und lokalen Rechtstraditionen mit den Offenbarungsreligionen Judentum, Christentum, Islam, die das geschriebene Gotteswort gleichfalls als Gesetz begreifen und die neuen Kulturen formen. Damit wird ein interdisziplinärer und interkultureller Blick auf die Rechtsdiskurse des Mittelalters gelenkt.
