Die nach Luthers Bibelübersetzung erstmalig mögliche Komposition von Bibeltext in einer Nationalsprache führte zu einem Selbstverständnis des evangelisch-lutherischen Komponisten als Verkünder und Exeget. In der Gattung schlug sich dieses Verständnis in bestimmten Techniken musikalischer Textbehandlung nieder. Mittels einer komplementären Darstellung historischer Aspekte (Voraussetzungen und Entwicklung der Gattung, Abriss der Gattungsgeschichte) und systematischer Aspekte (Analyse von Einzelwerken, Relation und Abgrenzung zu anderen Gattungen) wird in der vorliegenden Arbeit die Spezifizierung einer eigenständigen musikalischen Gattung in sprachlicher, historischer und konfessioneller Eingrenzung geleistet: die der evangelisch-lutherischen Predigtmotette von der Reformation bis in die Gegenwart. <dt.> | ||
| 520 | |a The Lutheran Reformation brought about a unique situation in German music history which lead to the emergence of a specific sub-genre of the motet. It was only after Luther translated the Bible that it was possible to compose music while using Bible texts in a vernacular tongue. In this context German Lutheran composers began to see themselves as interpreters and indeed preachers of biblical texts. This view of their role can be discovered in German motets up to the present time. This thesis examines specific ways of using text with religious intention in composition. In addition to analysing the music with the text itself, external factors such as the historical and social background of the genre from the Reformation to the present day are considered. The thesis concludes that the development of the German Lutheran motet is a paradigm regarding the rising of musical genres itself. <engl.> | ||
