RT Article T1 A New Hope for Christian Eschatology in Cosmic Perspective: Beyond the Predictions of Standard Big Bang Cosmology JF Theology and science VO 24 IS 1 SP 159 OP 178 A1 Lee, Hyung-Joo LA English YR 2026 UL https://ixtheo.de/Record/1963103513 AB Big Bang cosmology has been considered the standard model that successfully describes the history of our universe. Despite its success, its “freeze or fry” predictions as the fate of our universe are in contrast to the expectations from Christian eschatology based on the bodily resurrection of Jesus. This article introduces ideas about the universe relying on the quantum field theories that have been developed recently to supplement the original Big Bang cosmology. The quantum nature embedded in our universe allows us to retrieve eschatological hope by opening up new possibilities that could overcome the predictions of standard Big Bang cosmology.
