Las circunstancias parecen ofrecer pocas razones para una mirada esperanzada y una respuesta constructiva al sufrimiento. En este artículo nos acercamos a las fuentes bíblicas y mostramos cómo el relato de Judit brinda claves válidas para abordar el sufrimiento, propiciar la esperanza y ofrecer respuestas creyentes y comprometidas con la realidad. Con tal propósito comenzamos presentando una de las características más llamativas de dicho libro bíblico y la finalidad que tiene. El relato juega con los datos históricos para ofrecer un panorama cercano a nuestro concepto de distopía. La pretensión con ello es convertirse en una advertencia para los lectores. Tras este marco recorreremos la narración bíblica para presentar qué genera el sufrimiento en la historia y cómo se comprende este. El texto ofrece dos posibles interpretaciones teológicas del sufrimiento, pero solo una se considera adecuada. Las situaciones adversas pueden ser vividas como muestra del abandono divino o como una prueba de Dios que busca potenciar el valor de los afectados. Analizaremos también qué respuesta ofrece la protagonista ante esta situación y, finalmente, qué aprendizajes e interrogantes podemos asumir para nuestro hoy. | ||
| 520 | |a Encouraging hope is one of the greatest challenges in the current context. Circumstances seem to offer few reasons for a hopeful outlook and a constructive response to suffering. In this article we approach the biblical sources and show how the story of Judith provides us valid keys for dealing with suffering, fostering hope and offering believing and committed responses to reality. To this end, we begin by presenting one of the most striking characteristics of this biblical book and its purpose. The story plays with historical data to offer a panorama close to our concept of dystopia. The pretension it has with this is to become a warning for the readers. After this framework, we will go through the biblical narrative to present what generates suffering in history and how it is understood. The text offers two possible theological interpretations of suffering, but only one is considered appropriate. Adverse situations can be experienced as a sign of divine abandonment or as a test from God intended to enhance the courage of those affected. We will also analyze the response offered by the protagonist to this situation and, finally, what lessons and questions we can learn for today. | ||
