Adolescence represents a transitional phase marked by intense emotional, psychological, physical, and mental changes, often triggering inner turmoil that challenges the adolescent’s capacity to manage emotions effectively. Inadequate emotional regulation during this stage may lead to psychological stress and, ultimately, depression. In light of this, the present study proposes an Islamic spiritual approach based on the Qurʾan to address this pressing issue. This qualitative study aims to analyse the spiritual dimensions of Surah al-Ḍhuhā as a mechanism for addressing depression among adolescents. Employing thematic content analysis, the study explores the spiritual elements embedded in the surah. The primary reference is the Qurʾan, supplemented by interpretive commentaries including Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Tafsir al-Azhar by Hamka, and Fī Ẓilāl al-Qurʾān. The findings reveal that Surah al-Ḍhuhā encompasses psychological elements such as hope, motivation, social support, wisdom, and gratitude. Each verse is structured in an emotionally resonant and pedagogical manner to provide reassurance and encouragement to individuals experiencing emotional distress. The surah offers spiritual guidance with elements of consolation and motivation, promoting resilience and gratitude. This study highlights the potential of Qurʾanic spiritual strategies as a religious coping mechanism for adolescents in facing symptoms of depression.
