| Zusammenfassung: | The study of the theological-political figure of the katechon has given rise to numerous interpretations and speculations. This paper seeks to offer an approach to its distinctive pharmacological meaning, which sets it apart from other formulas tied to political sovereignty, both in the ancient world and in modernity. The katechontic mechanism, as a restraining force against evil, simultaneously requires the acknowledgment of evil’s inevitability as the definitive sign of the end times that precedes the Parousia. Deciphering this eschatological dimension of the katechon also demands a comprehension of political theology as an ontological foundation within the human order, in contrast to the Promethean mindset of secular ideologies. The study concludes that the current crisis of the katechon, linked to the dissolution of the state of exception and the rise of consensual violence, reveals an apocalyptic horizon in which order no longer opposes chaos, but rather neutralizes it through the banalization of all conflict. Within this framework, the need arises to revive a substantive political theology capable of reintroducing the eschatological meaning and the spiritual struggle into human history. El estudio de la figura teológico-política del katechón ha dado lugar a numerosas interpretaciones y especulaciones. Este texto obedece a la necesidad de aportar una aproximación hacia su peculiar sentido farmacológico, que lo distingue de otras fórmulas atadas a la soberanía política, tanto en el mundo antiguo como en el moderno. El mecanismo katejóntico como fuerza retentora del mal exige al mismo tiempo aceptar lo indefectible de este como signo definitivo del final de los tiempos que precede a la parusía. Descifrar esta dimensión escatológica del katechón exige también comprender el sentido de la teología política como fundamento ontológico en el orden humano frente al pensamiento prometeico de las ideologías secularistas. El estudio concluye que la crisis actual del katechón, vinculada a la disolución del estado de excepción y al auge de la violencia consensual, revela un horizonte apocalíptico en el que el orden ya no se opone al caos, sino que lo neutraliza mediante la banalización de todo conflicto. En este marco, se plantea la necesidad de resucitar una teología política sustantiva, capaz de reintroducir el sentido escatológico y la batalla espiritual en la historia humana. |
