| Summary: | The increase in mental health problems in primary education has prompted the search for pedagogical strategies that promote socio-emotional well-being. This article examines recent research on the relationship between emotional education and music in schools through a systematic mapping study that includes scientific articles indexed in the Wos, Scopus and Google Scholar databases and published between 2021 and 2024. The results show that music and the arts function as pedagogical tools that promote an improved school climate, emotional health, and academic performance. In particular, collective music practice is linked to the development of empathy, group cohesion, and emotional self-regulation, while the appropriate selection of musical genres stimulates positive emotions and reduces anxiety. In addition, benefits and risks are identified in adolescents' music consumption and the influence of educational policies on students' emotional expression. It is concluded that the systematic integration of music into emotional education is essential, although research gaps in teacher training and curriculum design remain. |
