Ambas as obras se caracterizam por tratarem de forma pejorativa, por diferentes perspectivas, as religiões dos povos indígenas, menosprezando-as e impondo uma fé cristã. Tem-se por objetivo, analisar e problematizar a forma como as particularidades de tais culturas estão representadas nesses meios, assim como os aspectos religiosos de povos ricos em ritos e simbologias. Adotamos como metodologia, inicialmente, uma análise crítica/descritiva da letra da música e do quadro,; posteriormente, correlacionamos com uma análise qualitativa, de caráter bi-bliográfico, de autores que foram consultados afim de melhor estruturar a discussão e fornecer os subsídios teóricos necessários para a pesquisa, na qual foram trabalhados conceitos relacionados à música enquanto uma experiência cultural, à eloquência das pinturas clássicas, perspectivas iconográficas e iconológicas, as representações dos indígenas no contexto musical, bem como a construção de suas identidades, partindo do período colonial e suas formas de expressões religiosas. Analisamos, nos dois ambientes, tanto o paradigma do mito fundador, estruturado no cristianismo, quanto o paralelo entre luz e trevas, advindo da desvalorização das religiões indígenas e imposição da fé cristã. Para além dessas discussões, evidenciou-se esse processo de imposição religiosa enquanto um fenômeno antigo que perdura até a atualidade. | ||
| 520 | |a In this article, we examine as our study object the song O índio do senhor (The indigenous of the Lord), authored by Sebastiao da Costa Maciel Junior and Josias de Aguiar Teixeira, performed by the singer Cristina Mel; and also, the historical painting, in oil on canvas, Primeira Missa no Brasil (First Mass in Brazil), by the artist Victor Meirelles. Both works are characterized by dealing derogatorily, from different perspectives, with the religion of indigenous peoples, belittling it and imposing a Christian faith. The objective is to analyze and problematize the way in which the particularities of such cultures are represented in these mediums, as well as the religious aspects of peoples rich in rituals and symbologies. Our methodology was initially a critical/descriptive analysis of the lyrics of the song and the painting, which we then correlated with a qualitative, bibliographic analysis of the authors we consulted in order to better structure the discussion and provide the necessary theoretical support for the research, in which we worked on concepts related to music as a cultural experience, the eloquence of classical paintings, iconographic and iconological perspectives, the representations of indigenous people in the musical context, as well as the construction of their identities, starting from the colonial period and their forms of religious expression. In both environments, we analyzed both the paradigm of the founding myth, structured in christianity, and the parallel between light and darkness, arising from the devaluation of indigenous religions and the imposition of the christian faith. Beyond these discussions, this process of religious imposition was highlighted as an ancient phenomenon that continues to this day. | ||
