Foi realizada revisão teórico-crítica, atravessando as contribuições de David Morgan, Birgit Meyer, Alfred Gell e Bruno Latour em seus quatro conceitos: o Olhar Sagrado, a Mediação Sensorial, a Agência dos Objetos e a Teoria Ator-Rede. A pesquisa aponta que imagens, objetos, corpos e espaços sagrados não são meras representações devocionais, sendo elementos singulares, geradores de uma sensação de presença e eficácia como agentes formadores da religião vivida. Os dados apresentados indicam que a Arqueologia da Religião, ao integrar os conceitos apresentados acima, amplia de maneira significativa os horizontes metodológicos das disciplinas, demonstrando sua aplicabilidade desde contextos históricos e etnográficos até a arqueologia strictu sensu, colocando em destaque a materialidade como dimensão crucial para entender a performance ritual e a religião vivida. Os objetos sagrados, portanto, não se limitam a ser meros adereços ou símbolos inativos. Eles fazem parte de uma intrincada teia de mediação, o que confere uma compreensão mais abrangente da religião, a partir da perspectiva interdisciplinar aqui apresentada, focada na interconexão entre rituais, materialidades e significados. | ||
