| 520 | |a In Genesis 1:26, the term "Us" and "Our" have been subject to various interpretations within Christian theology. One prevalent interpretation posits that "Us" and "Our" signify the doctrine of the Trinity, encompassing God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This perspective recognizes the presence of the Trinitarian concept—one essence manifested in three distinct persons—within the creation narrative. Conversely, another interpretation challenges the notion that "Us" and "Our" pertain to the Trinity, suggesting instead that it refers to God with his angels or a heavenly assembly. The last interpretation proposes that the plural verb signifies the majestic plural. This study, however, introduces an alternative interpretation, proposing that "Us" and "Our" communicates both the divine attributions of God and human responsibilities. The article employs a comparative literature methodology to analyze the creation narratives found in both the Holy Bible and the Al-Qur'ān. | ||
