Oracles against foreign nations as a separate genre have not received much attention from researchers. This article surveys the collection of oracles against foreign nations in Isaiah 13-23. The most interesting conclusions reached are, firstly, that Isaiah 13-23 was composed as a unit and, secondly, that the oracles have lost their original meaning and now carry a new theological message. | ||
