Description
Summary:Some remarks on the nature of the church This article is an endeavour, broadly based on the New Testament, to formulate by means of a number of theses with comments, what may be regarded as the most distinctive characteristics of the church. It represents a selection of traits taken from different New Testament documents, which show a preference for the Pauline understanding of the concept, as well as for the earlier over against later institutionalized versions of ecclesiastical self-understanding as expressed, for example, in the Pastorals.
