The bloodless -but real- pressure exerted by the bishop during the week from 2nd to 9th february 418 are ommited. Every feature corresponds to a bishop of the Teodosian era. We focus in observing how both the bishop and the plebs christiana universa reacted to the intercession and thanksgiving prayer, expressed through hymns, chants, psalms, sometimes sung together with the Jews. The biblical text have influences from the north African pre-baptismal catechesis. The celebration of Eucharist, always presided over by the bishop and unanimously participated by the Christian community, stands out from the text. For the first time in Latin, the term missa is used in an autonomous way, without any apposition. All the mentioned celebrations take place on a working day. A single time the baptism request for a 102-year-old Jew is mentioned. The converted received the Signum salutare, previous to baptism. The ministerial structure of the church in Menorca is complete: there is the bishop, priests, clergy, and the letter is also addressed to deacons. The church buildings are described as basilica and ecclesia. | ||

Ometem les pressions incruentes, però reals, fetes pel bisbe, al llarg de la setmana del 2 al 9 de febrer de l'any 418. Tots els trets es corresponen a un bisbe de l'època teodosiana. Ens concentram en observar com el bisbe i la plebs christiana universa reaccionaven amb la pregària d'intercessió i d'acció de gràcies, expressada en himnes, cants, salms, a vegades cantats a l'uníson amb els jueus. Els textos bíblics tenen un influx de les catequesis prebaptismals nord-africanes. Ressalta la celebració de l'eucaristia, presidida sempre pel bisbe, i participada unànimement per la comunitat cristiana. Per primer cop en llatí el terme missa és usat d'una manera autònoma, sense cap aposició. Totes les celebracions esmentades són en dia feiner. Un sol cop esmenta la petició del baptisme per a un jueu de cent dos anys. Els convertits rebien el Signum salutare, previ al baptisme. L'estructura ministerial de l'església a Menorca és completa: hi ha el bisbe, preveres, clergues, i la carta s'adreça també als diaques. Els edificis de l'església són designats com a basilica i ecclesia. | ||
