| 520 | |a ResumenEste artículo se centra en las ramas evangélicas pentecostales y tiene como objetivo exponer cómo operan sus creencias en la sociedad brasileña, particularmente a través de la política institucional (Congreso Nacional, Brasil) entre 2018-2024. Numerosas iglesias evangélicas pentecostales están motivadas por la Teología del Dominio, que retrata la vida en la tierra como una lucha entre el bien y el mal. El Dominionismo es un sistema de creencias que tiene como objetivo construir naciones cristianas en anticipación de la segunda venida de Jesús a la tierra. Nuestra hipótesis propone que esta doctrina utiliza el campo político, entre otras vías, para influir en la opinión pública hacia la adopción de sus creencias, para obtener el apoyo de individuos que comparten sus concepciones religiosas y para atraer a los votantes a abogar por una legislación que se alinee con sus agendas morales. Examina una colección de legislación que demuestra el activismo evangélico pentecostal en espacios institucionales, particularmente en relación con categorías morales que desafían los conceptos de familia (uniones civiles entre personas del mismo sexo), derechos reproductivos (aborto) y educación (el proyecto Escuela sin Partido). | ||
| 520 | |a This paper focuses on evangelical Pentecostals and aims at exposing how their beliefs work across Brazilian society, particularly through institutional politics (National Congress) between 2018 and 2024. Numerous Pentecostal churches follow Dominion Theology, viewing life as a battle between good and evil. Dominionism is a belief system that aims at building up Christian nations in anticipation of the second coming of Jesus on Earth. This doctrine uses the field of politics, among other paths, to sway public opinion toward adopting its beliefs, to garner support from individuals who share its religious conceptions, and to attract voters to advocate for legislation that aligns with its moral agendas. It examines a collection of legislation that demonstrates the activism of Pentecostals evangelicals in institutional spaces, particularly in relation to moral categories that challenge the concepts of family (civil union between individuals of the same sex), reproductive rights (abortion), and education (the project School without Party). | ||
