La materia è retta dai cann. 535 § 1 e 1182. Un registro deve essere conservato in ogni parrocchia, non è permesso un libro condiviso e l’obbligo delle annotazioni grava sul parroco. Spetta al vescovo locale vigilare, dare norme su che cosa scrivere nell’annotazione come pure dare indicazioni perché i parroci possano risolvere i casi più complessi. L’obbligo di annotazione grava soltanto quando il parroco ha potuto prendere parte alle esequie (o a parte di esse). Al termine si offrono strumenti pe gestire alcuni casi più complessi. | ||
| 520 | |a The history of the register of deceased persons is intertwined with the practice of recording the dead for the purpose of suffrage celebrations (obituaries). Over time, these two records became separate, giving rise on the one hand to what is governed by the current canons 958 § 1 and 1307 § 1 and, on the other hand, to the register in consideration. The matter is governed by canons 535 § 1 and 1182. A register must be kept in every parish; a shared book is not permitted, and the obligation to make entries rests with the parish priest. It is the responsibility of the local bishop to supervise, to give rules on what to write in the entry, and to give guidance so that parish priests can resolve more complex cases. The obligation to make an entry applies only when the parish priest has been able to take part in the funeral (or part of it). At the end, tools are offered to manage some more complex cases. | ||
