Description
Summary:The aim of the essay is to examine the social and relational aspects linked to the birth and development of the movement of the "Pauperes Christi sive Apostoli sive Minimi", in the phase in which it was led by Gherardo Segarelli (1260-1300). Rather than on Gherardo, abundantly explored by scholars, the focus will be on the lesser-known environment of the "fratres" and "sorores" who flanked him in the dramatic evolution from "religio nova", somehow afferent to the mendicant nebula, to "perniciosa secta", set in a context of decisive non-conformism.
