Sempre atenta aos sinais dos tempos, busca salvaguardar e transmitir os ensinamentos e os valores evangélicos que recebeu de seu fundador, Jesus Cristo. Por isso, não pode deixar de anunciar no mundo o evangelho da vida, pelo qual o mistério da existência humana recebe luz, orientação e é conduzido à salvação integral. O presente artigo, articulado em cinco partes, aborda a visão bíblico-teológica sobre o final da vida, para apresentar as razões pelas quais a Igreja Católica refuta a eutanásia e a distanásia como ações que não condizem com a dignidade da pessoa humana, aceitando que ela, diante da doença e da morte iminente, tem o direito de receber dos órgãos públicos o devido respeito, a assistência sanitária e a medicação que promova, terminadas todas as possibilidades de obtenção da cura, o alívio da sua dor e do seu sofrimento através da prática ortotanásica. A família e a comunidade de fé, por sua vez, que são os vínculos mais próximos de uma pessoa que está para enfrentar a última ação fundamental da sua vida, devem ser presentes, acompanhando-a com a solidariedade e a caridade que fortalecem a esperança na vida eterna. | ||

Always attentive to the signs of the times , seeking to safeguard and transmit the teachings and gospel values it received from its founder, Jesus Christ. So it can not fail to proclaim the gospel in the world of life, by which the mystery of human existence receives light, orientation and is driven to full salvation. This article, articulated into five parts, covers the biblical-theological vision of the end of life, to present the reasons why the Catholic Church rejects euthanasia and futility as actions that are not consistent with the dignity of the human person, accepting that she before the illness and impending death, is entitled to receive from public bodies due respect, health care and medication that promotes completion of all the possibilities of obtaining healing, relief of their pain and their suffering through practice “ortotanásica”. The family and the community of faith, in turn, they are the closest ties of a person who is essential to face the last action of his life, must be present, together with solidarity and charity strengthen hope in life eternal. | ||
