Description
Summary:This study focuses on the relationship between the faith sub-dimension of spiritual well-being and COVID-19-related fear among cancer patients. The research employs a descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional approach to understand how faith influences psychological resilience and reduces fear in this population during the pandemic. The study was conducted with 261 cancer patients treated at a Health Application and Research Center in Turkey from March to May 2022. Data were collected using the Faith sub-dimension and the coronavirus fear scale (C19P-S). The findings reveal a significant negative relationship between Faith sub-dimension and COVID-19 fear, suggesting that Faith plays a pivotal role in enhancing psychological well-being. In line with these findings, the study recommends integrating spiritual support into the psychological care processes for cancer patients, focusing mainly on faith-based support. Recommended practical applications include spiritual counseling services provided through telemedical systems and the establishment of hospital-based spiritual care teams structured to suit cancer patients’ emotional and spiritual needs.
