| Итог: | El estudio de la Iglesia y del episcopado son hoy día indispensables para la compresión del Imperio Romano de la Tardoantigüedad, así como de cada una de sus diócesis y provincias. Así, se trata de ofrecer una visión de conjunto de la figura del obispo en el marco geográfico de la Península Ibérica desde el siglo IV hasta el siglo VII, abordando en primer lugar las bases de su poder y en segundo lugar haciendo un estudio prosopográfico de los principales obispos de Hispania, demostrando su plena integración en la sociedad hispanorromana como una nueva élite dirigente y aglutinante de esa sociedad, así como su proyección en el devenir político del Imperio. The study of the Church and the episcopate are today indispensable for the understanding of the Late Roman Empire, as well as for each of its dioceses and provinces. Thus, the aim is to offer a general vision of the figure of the bishop in the geographical framework of the Iberian Peninsula from the 4th to the 7th century, dealing firstly with the bases of his power and secondly making a pro-poeographic study of the main bishops of Hispania, demonstrating their full integration in the Hispano-Roman society as a new leading and binding elite of that society, as well as their projection in the political future of the Empire. |
