Description
Summary:With the aim of proposing elements for discussion around the moral regulation of digital technology, the idea of the golden mean is developed to establish an ethical position that, with a strong cultural component, re-evaluates the current relationship with technological devices. To achieve this, the exploration begins with the role of technical knowledge in some classics of thought, followed by an examination of a few conceptual categories that capture subsequent developments regarding this type of knowledge. From there, it transitions to the philosophy of technology, where technique and technology are vindicated as worthy subjects of analysis. Finally, it outlines the priority that moral sentiments, cultural values, community participation, and the active expression of all the world's peoples must have in establishing a stance and shaping the place of technology among individuals - beyond what multinational corporations and governments decide on the matter. Ultimately, the text highlights the collective power of societies to reclaim the technological sphere as one of the realms of fulfillment for human beings.
