According to Bertram, one can identify a threefold meaning of the Septuagint for the religion of the Hellenistic world: "1. Die Septuaginta bewirkt und vollzieht die Hellenisierung des semitischen Monotheismus. 2. Die Septuaginta ermöglicht die Umprägung der alttestamentlichen Überlieferung zur universalen Religion des hellenistischen Judentums und 3. gestaltet sie sich unbewusst und ungewollt zur Praeparatio Evangelica." It is especially its role regarding the latter which is important here for our study. | ||
