| Summary: | As the Church enters a new millennium, the Áuthor draws a parallel between the project of the Brazilian Church — i.e. To Be a Church in the New Millennium — and Pope John Paul the Second's encyclical — Novo Millennio Ineunte. In this comparison, among some differences, the Author finds an outstanding and fortunate convergence both in the ecclesiological conception and in the awareness of the evangelising mission of the Church.
