| Zusammenfassung: | The article briefly reviews what happened in the Church in the forty years since the Vatican II. It finds that the great efforts made were valid and providential, but points to the brakes that were gradually imposed on the attempt to build a new “historical figure” of the Church. We identify some signs present today and conclude by listing a series of problems and challenges that are piling up in the present historical horizon demanding that the Church should bravely resume the work begun by the Vatican II. O artigo faz um breve balanço do que ocorreu nos 40 anos que se passaram desde o Vaticano II. Considera válido e providencial o grande esforço realizado, mas aponta para os freios que foram sendo colocados à tentativa de se construir uma nova “figura histórica” de Igreja. Indicam-se alguns sinais presentes nos tempos de hoje. No fim, é elencada uma série de problemas e desafios que se acumulam no horizonte histórico atual e exigem que a Igreja retome com coragem a obra encetada pelo Vaticano II. |
