Résumé:The focus is on Jonah's psalm in the second chapter of the book of Jonah, in order to identify some of the important Hebrew structural and stylistic features. A contemporary scenario is set with the Chichewa-speaking peoples of east-central Africa. The specific project Skopos, aims to produce a "literary functional equivalence" (LiFE) translation that will foster a dramatic oral recital or choral rendition of this psalm.
