| 520 | |a This paper investigated the effect of spiritual well-being on attitudes toward complementary and alternative medicine. This descriptive and correlational study was conducted in a university hospital in Turkiye. The study population consisted of all patients with type 2 diabetes treated in the hospital. The sample consisted of 250 participants. The sample size was calculated based on the regression results reported by Ben-Arye et al. (2011). Data were collected using a personal information form, the Holistic Complementary and Alternative Medicine Questionnaire and the Three-Factor Spiritual Well-Being Scale. Participants had a mean age of 57.10 ± 6.758 years. They had a mean Body Mass Index of 30.08 ± 4.110. Most patients with type 2 diabetes use alternative methods, such as massage and thyme. There is no correlation between spiritual well-being and Holistic Complementary and Alternative Medicine attitudes. Healthcare professionals should integrate modern and alternative diabetes treatment methods. Patients trained by diabetes education nurses are less likely to make wrong choices about Holistic Complementary and Alternative Medicine. | ||
