In our commonly known lexica words are listed alphabetically and original meanings are assigned on the strength of etymological evidence. From the original meanings additional meanings are extrapolated. In the project, an Old Testament Dictionary of Semantic Domains, a new approach is attempted in which words of closely related meaning are grouped together (and distinguished from each other) and etymologising disregarded.
