Description
Summary:This article focuses on the translation of Saint Bernard, the confessor. According to him, the whole illustrious life of Jesus Christ from boyhood to old age shone brightly with virtues and miracles. In particular it is told that although he was king he did not forsake humility, that in marriage he never violated the chastity he had always maintained and since neither turtle-dove nor dove was available for sacrifice he would offer in himself. Inasmuch as scripture is his tutor and his own conscience his guide, his life, it seems, is seen truthfully depicted in those words of the gospels where one reads according to Luke that a dispute arose among Jesus' disciples as to who among them was seen to be greater.
