| Resumo: | Ps 24,6 and Ps 27,8 MT are two similar texts, in that they juxtapose the search for God’s face with the search for the face of his human intermediary ('Jacob' in 24,6; 'David' in 27,8). Most modern translations follow the LXX, which eliminates reference to the human intermediary, making the object of the search solely the face of God. This article takes a position in favor of MT as a lectio difficilior. Departing from a canonical reading of the Psalter, Ps 27,8 quotes the statement of Ps 24,6, asking God to enable his Messiah to fulfill his mission as intermediary between God and the peoples. |
