This drive may have derived its power from a vision of an ideal career, status, prestige, or distinction. Some are driven by a vision of a transformed society or a perfect community based on humanistic traditions or founded on Jesus of Nazareth's vision of the Reign of God. Although certain visions that impel personal drives may result in scholarly productivity and knowledge translation, these would also need the support of an institution led by visionary scholar–administrators. The intersecting and mutually determining Christian personal and institutional visions keep the dynamism of research and publication in theology and religion more alive. This is the focus of this article, which also deals with the formation of vision-driven scholarly habitus in higher educational fields. | ||
