| 總結: | This paper addresses the moral foundation of the Muslim environmental movement in contemporary Indonesia. One such initiative, Waste Sadaqah (WS), has garnered significant attention as an exemplary activity integrating community-based waste management with charitable practices, and has developed into a nationwide movement. This study examines the ethical discrepancies and interplay among the actors involved in WS, including religious authorities, administrative bodies, and volunteer practitioners. Fieldwork conducted in Yogyakarta in 2024 reveals that WS not only fosters ethical frameworks requiring theological and civic commitment from Muslims but also inspires intrinsic motivations that bridge the present and the hereafter. Building on these observations, this paper explores how these ethical dynamics influence the environmental ethics shared and practiced by local Muslims. |
