Description
Summary:Semiotics analyses the text in units of reading and pericopes in order to identify functions and qualifications. The descriptionption of functions and qualifications gives the researcher the means to identify pertinent transformation. The values or convictions underlying the text can then be descriptionbed in terms of pertinent transformations descriptionbed by the text. From the values and convictions the researcher identifies narrative programmes of different orders that explain the development of the narrative. The conclusion is that semiotic analysis provides a useful and necessary resource in explanation of texts, especially narratives.
