AB Historical geography is concerned with human interaction on the environment. In order to understand this process, the historical geographer must, according to the idealistic approach, rethink the thoughts underlying past actions while focusing on their geographical importance. Two examples are used to illustrate this process: The sphere of human influence on the environment, and the influence of the environment on human activity.
