To this end, J Fowler's complex model of human faith development is used to suggest that Proverbs actually reflects an advanced level of faith development, perhaps even beyond that of Job and Ecclesiastes. This is in contrast to those who characterise Proverbs as reflecting a predominantly rigid notion of moral reciprocity (act-consequence), a view which would place Proverbs on a decidedly elementary level of faith development. | ||
