總結:This article seeks two primary goals. First, to provide fundamental information about Cuba's geography: physical aspects, location, climate, natural resources, etc. Second, to discuss and analyze the various ways in which Cuba's particular geographic traits, such as insularity, elongated shape, tropical location, and proximity to the United States, have helped shape the course of its history and the culture of its inhabitants. The essay approaches the subject steering clear from both accepting geographic determinism and ignoring the influence of geography, by focusing on the interaction between the forces of physical geography and human responses to them.
