In particular, it draws upon the philosophical analysis of Simone Weil, who utilizes this metaphor to illuminate the soul’s journey of conversion towards God. This conversion unfolds as a gradual detachment from all that is inessential. In anticipation of grace descending to fill the resulting void, there emerges an active receptivity to grace - to the good that emanates from above. At the heart of the human spirit lies a profound yearning that echoes like an inalienable desire, mirroring this longing for the divine. |
