Description
Summary:On an outcrop of rock in the eastern bank of the island of Elephantine.i close to the modern landing stage of the village· Nagc el-Rarn!a, a group of ten rock inscriptions is located. Nine of them, dating to the late Middle Kingdom, belong mainly to state administration officials and army personnel. While some of the texts were noted already in earlier publications, the existing copies show many deficiencies. An as yet unpublished, isolated New Kingdom inscription nearby was carved on behalf of a priest of Monthu from Armant. In this article a full new publication of the texts is offered with a short commentary on their content, format, and topographical context.
