Résumé: | This essay focuses attention on how liturgical participation forms faith, asking how the liturgy has shaped the worshipper into Christ over time in different modes. A shift has taken place from formation as cognitive knowledge (which may be confined to the individual) to the communal experience in liturgy. Looking carefully at the words “sacramentality,” “symbol,” and ontology,” or the study of existence. In the end, sacramental participation shapes life in accordance with the paschal mystery which not only transforms the individual and the church community but the world. |
