Inclusive entrou no espaço sagrado como objeto religioso e/ ou ídolo. A Bíblia testemunha esse processo ao olhar para Israel e as nações vizinhas dele, contemplando os diversos períodos dos patriarcas até o cristianismo primitivo. Contudo, o conjunto dos textos em questão, lidos por judeus e cristãos como Palavra de Deus e Sagrada Escritura, traz uma reflexão profética e/ou crítica em relação ao ouro. Ora a Bíblia descobre a função social desse metal tão valorizado, ora promove a ideia de que existe algo ainda mais valioso, isto é, os mandamentos de Deus, a sabedoria e/ou o anúncio do Evangelho trazido por Jesus. Assim, religiosamente, prevalece a proposta da superação do ouro. Com isso, a presente pesquisa visa ao diálogo entre, de um lado, a realidade atual na Amazônia, marcada pela extração desenfreada do ouro, com prejuízos incalculáveis para a natureza e as populações locais, e, do outro, a milenar sabedoria bíblica, na esperança de que esta última traga sua palavra profética ao encontro dos gritos da terra e do pobre. | ||
| 520 | |a Since the fifth millennium before Christ, human beings have been extracting gold from the earth and adding value to it. As a result, the metal became the greatest representative of wealth, social position and power. It even entered the sacred space as a religious object and/or idol. The Bible bears witness to this process by looking at Israel and its bordering nations, covering the various periods from the patriarchs to early Christianity. However, the texts in question, read by Jews and Christians as the Word of God and Sacred Scripture, offer a prophetic and/or critical reflection on gold. Sometimes the Bible discovers the social function of this highly valued metal, sometimes it promotes the idea that there is something even more valuable, namely God’s commandments, wisdom and/or the proclamation of the Gospel brought by Jesus. Thus, religiously, the proposal to surpass gold prevails. With this in mind, the present research aims to create a dialogue between the current reality in the Amazon, marked by the unbridled extraction of gold, with incalculable damage to nature and local populations, and the millennia-old wisdom of the Bible, in the hope that the latter will bring its prophetic word to meet the cries of the earth and the poor. | ||
