Traditional historiography has focussed on how the Germanic peoples were anti-Nicene from the beginning of evangelisation. This article analyses how it was not a unambiguous rejection and how some figures have contstructed an anti-Nicene doctrine thanks to a theological-philosophical and linguistic sensitvity.
