In silence and prayer, he received a visit from the winged Seraphim. The Crucifix imprinted in his heart and body the signs of love: the stigmata. Against the background of this story, the author tries to answer the most important question: how did the stigmata come about, how are they possible? Although they are primarily a divine gift, they are not something that can happen suddenly, out of nowhere, but flourish on a prepared "soil". The category of rite/ritual seems important to discover and describe the life Francis led before receiving the gift of the stigmata. And this has much to say also to the need for spirituality of us contemporary men, in need of new rituals. | ||
