AB This article aims to identify the four weeks mentioned in Shenoute's Canons and to study their observance. Comparing Shenoutean and Pachomian practices, it is argued that they are the first week of Quadragesima, the Holy week, the week following the feast of Pentecost and, possibly, a week in Mesore.
