| Sumario: | Artificial intelligence has become ubiquitous in the Western world. It is developing with such speed that policymakers, ethicists, and - yes - theologians (all of whom need time to properly reflect) are having a hard time keeping up. Nevertheless, the many issues and questions that AI raises, and the promises and pitfalls of AI-powered technologies require interdisciplinary engagement. Here, I invite the reader to a preliminary conversation about technology writ large from a Roman Catholic perspective, paying attention to several important concerns that artificial intelligence is bringing to light for us to consider, both theologically and ethically : relationality, embodiment, and limitation/loss. L’intelligence artificielle est devenue omniprésente dans le monde occidental. Elle se développe à une telle vitesse que les décideurs politiques, les éthiciens et, oui, les théologiens (qui ont tous besoin de temps pour bien réfléchir) ont du mal à suivre. Néanmoins, le grand nombre d’enjeux et de questions que l’intelligence artificielle soulève ainsi que les promesses et les pièges des technologies alimentées par l’IA nécessitent un engagement interdisciplinaire. J’invite ici le lecteur ou la lectrice à un dialogue préliminaire sur la technologie dans son ensemble, d’un point de vue catholique romain, en prêtant attention à certains enjeux importants que l’intelligence artificielle fait ressortir pour les examiner attentivement, à la fois sur le plan théologique et éthique : la relationnalité, l’incarnation et les limites ou la perte. |
