If we know it was excavated by Achille Joyau in 1865, its exact finding spot is still under debate. Some previously-neglected documents do however give indications on the place and circumstances of its discovery.
AB Résumé - La découverte de la grande Vénus de Baalbek est restée longtemps une énigme. S’il est établi qu’elle fut exhumée par Achille Joyau en 1865, l’endroit exact fait toujours débat. Des documents jusque-là négligés permettent cependant de préciser l’emplacement et les circonstances de sa mise au jour.
