Zusammenfassung:Fr Thomas Vincent Daly SJ (1924-2014) spent much of his priestly life teaching philosophy and was an important figure in the Catholic philosophical scene in Australia in the late twentieth century. This article examines Daly's contribution as revealed in a collection of his published papers and previously unpublished papers now available online at the Lonergan Australia website. It does so by seeing his work as a contribution to the formation of what his guiding light, Bernard Lonergan SJ, would refer to as authentic subjects. The article begins with a brief overview of Daly's professional career, and goes on to look at what he, following Lonergan, understood by the subject and by authenticity, before perusing his contribution to the formation of authentic subjects.
